Abstract

This study introduced an Extended Xlindley Distribution (EXD), which was derived from the two-parameter Quasi XLindley distribution through the introduction of another parameter β. Some of its mathematical properties were obtained. The moment and maximum likelihood estimation method were used in estimating the parameters of the proposed distribution. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov goodness-of-fit test was applied to two retrieved datasets, compared against other existing models, and demonstrated greater efficiency than the considered models.

Keywords: Quasi Xlindley distribution, weighted distribution, maximum likelihood estimation, moments, kolmogorov-smirnov
